I have been working with Poul for almost 8 years. Originally he got me into tip-top shape for my wedding but I could not stop there. I also had a desire to run a half marathon- so with Poul's guidance I now run competitively. My greatest success was running the Toronto half marathon and being in the top 20% of my age group. My muscles and posture look fantastic. I am very impressed with Poul's exercise and nutritional knowledge, he makes my workouts challenging and full of variety. I never get bored because he motivates me to "go the distance".

I was apprehensive about using a trainer as I believed I was able to workout on my own as I had for years. Poul has been our personal trainer for four years, working with us on a weekly basis. In addition to being very knowledgeable in his field, he quickly understood our goals and has continually provided advice and varied programs. He uses a holistic approach, incorporating flexibility, strength, posture, balance, endurance along with promoting a healthy eating regime.
He is encouraging without being "soft" on us. He constantly motivates us to move through the difficult movements. Most importantly - he ensures we are doing the moves correctly and reinforces how it will benefit us.
The results have been significant. We are leaner, more toned and far fitter than before. Even our friends and colleagues have noted the difference.
Poul has responded to our needs in a carefully planned way that has addressed our personal goals. He listens to us and addresses the issues we raise. Each week he develops a training program uniquely for us and makes notes on the program as to how we should differentiate the plan for our individual needs. In between each weekly session, we work on the program on our own.

I am a 45 year-old entrepreneur and mother of three children ages 8-13. My Nielsen Fitness workouts have transformed my body and energy levels in noticeable and sustainable ways. I now have a more sculpted body, can actually see my abs, and can do 12 chin-ups in a row.
I am regularly asked if I weight train or was a former gymnast (I am not!), and people are typically surprised to learn that I am 45 and have 3 children. I don't have a natural affinity for sweating and working hard in a gym, but Poul inspires me to push myself harder and really make use of my limited work-out time.
In my 5 years training with Poul, I have been impressed by many things: his ability to customize my work-outs and really diagnose what I need to keep me improving rather than merely maintaining; his constant creativity, and the fact that he makes the strenuous process of training actually feel fun.
Poul has a strong background in the physiology of what he does, and his care and knowledge are two reasons why I have never been injured in my workouts. At 45, I have a more toned body and more energy than I had at 25, and Poul has been a huge, contributing factor! |

As I enter my late 30s I'm in the best shape of my life thanks to Nielsen Fitness. The excruciating pain I had in my lower back due to osteoarthritis a few short years ago is now gone. Nielsen Fitness trainer Micheline is a great personal trainer! She does a great job of listening to the goals of her clients and setting them up with a program that will produce results. At the same time, she ensures that they will not get bored with the program by mixing it up every workout. Micheline has kept me motivated and her great personality makes me look forward to getting up at 6am for training sessions!!! |
