Heading south? How to stay fit while traveling
2. Even if it may seem cheesy, try out a resort fitness class – even better if it’s something you’ve never done before. It might just be fun, and at the very it’ll get you up off that lounge chair (and away from the bar!) for a little while.
3. Use some of your favourite no-equipment movements in your hotel room. Even if it’s a set here or there (while you’re brushing your teeth perhaps?), it’s better than nothing. Think wall sits, calf raises, push ups, and planks. I did this every day and it made a world of difference.
The bottom line: doing something is better than doing nothing, as it maintains the pattern of taking action, even if your workouts aren’t as long or intense. Also, remember to drink water! At least one glass/bottle for every alcoholic drink. Your body (and your head) will thank you. Bon voyage!
