- Plan and schedule. Put your workouts in your calendar, lay your exercise clothes out the night before, and prep those healthy meals in advance. In other words, do everything you can to eliminate obstacles and reduce temptations (whether it be your warm bed or a drive-through dinner).
- Track your achievements. Just writing down those workouts, glasses of water, and changes in behaviour can go a long way, especially if you aren’t seeing physical results just yet. A notebook works fine but, as you may have guessed, there’s an app for that. Winstreak and Success Log are two that we like. Winstreak is available on both the Apple and Android platforms, and Success Log is available on the Android platform. These are clean, simple apps that make it easy to record all of the things you are doing right.
- Don’t let set-backs stop you in your tracks. Set-backs are part of real life and unavoidable in the long-term, so don’t let little slip-ups be the death of a healthy habit. Focus on getting back on the horse, instead of beating yourself up for falling off.
When it comes to working out, we can attest to the fact that the biggest reasons people quit is because they haven’t yet formed an ingrained habit, and/or aren’t seeing results. If you want to set yourself up for fitness success once and for all, consider our Habit Package. It is designed to provide the full support and motivation you need to get through the first 21 days and begin seeing results.
