New Years Resolutions at Nielsen Fitness
As we head into a new year, the Nielsen Fitness team has been reflecting on what truly makes a difference in the lives of the clients we serve. Beyond programs, equipment, or session formats, it’s the commitment we bring to our craft (and to the people we coach) that shapes meaningful, lasting results.
Whether we’re working as your virtual personal trainer or supporting you as your in-home personal trainer in Toronto, Collingwood, London, Hamilton, or Ottawa, our mission remains the same: to keep learning, keep listening, and keep encouraging you every step of the way. With that in mind, we’ve set three resolutions that will guide how we continue showing up for you in 2026.
RESOLUTION #1: CONTINUING TO ADVANCE OUR SKILLS
As both virtual personal trainers and in-home personal training professionals, we believe that great coaching starts with continuous learning. “Research in Sport Science is shaped by technological advancements, shifting trends, and social influences. In recent years, significant progress has been made in this field through various technologies, methodologies, and research approaches” (National Library of Medicine, 2025).
This year, we’re continuing to commit to staying on top of our skills through regular team workshops, updated certifications, and independent study. By deepening our knowledge in strength training, mobility, recovery, and coaching methodology, we can ensure that every session, whether online or in person, reflects the most current and effective training practices. Our commitment to education is ultimately a commitment to providing you with safe, smart, and results-driven guidance.
RESOLUTION #2: CONTINUING TO LISTEN
A major part of being a strong coaching team is understanding how our clients feel, what challenges they’re facing, and how we can adjust our approach to better support them. In 2026, we’re doubling down on consistent, meaningful check-ins.
We want to hear what’s working, what needs to change, and how we can refine your program — whether that’s shifting training intensity, adjusting session structure, or offering additional accountability. Your goals are at the center of everything we do, and staying connected helps us deliver training that evolves with your life and needs.
RESOLUTION #3: CONTINUING TO ENCOURAGE YOU
Encouragement isn’t about quick motivation; it’s about long-term belief. A 2025 study published in the Journal of Prevention and Health Promotion found that encouragement messages have the greatest long-term positive impact when they foster insight, boost confidence, and convey care — especially because insight drives new beliefs and behaviours.
This year, we’re committed to continue offering steady, positive support that helps you build confidence, resilience, and trust in your own abilities. Whether you see us in person or online, we want to empower you to push your limits safely, celebrate your progress, and develop habits that support your health far beyond the gym. Our goal is to be a consistent source of guidance, encouragement, and strength as you work toward becoming the best version of yourself.
